At Virginia Nephrology Group, Dr. Ashraf provides comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease, with a strong focus on chronic kidney disease (CKD), end-stage renal disease (ESRD), glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, congenital and hereditary kidney disorders, and hypertension. She is committed to delivering patient-centered care that addresses each individual’s unique needs and goals.
Dr. Ashraf’s care philosophy is grounded in compassion and collaboration: “I believe in patient-centered care, rooted in the ethics of care theory, emphasizing compassion, interdependence, and individualized response over rigid rules—focusing on the person’s unique needs, values, and goals. I love treating my patients with dignity, involving them in decisions, understanding their context, and fostering trust through genuine connection and respect.”
She is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi and has contributed to publications in the American Journal of Kidney Diseases and the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ashraf enjoys spending time with her family and kids.
